Types of Symbiosis (Middle Slide)


Symbiosis means a close relationship between two species. The three main types shown are:

1. Mutualism (+/+)

• Both species benefit.

• Example: Sea anemone and clownfish.

2. Commensalism (+/0)

• One species benefits, the other is unaffected.

• Example: Barnacle on a whale.

3. Parasitism (+/-)

• One species benefits, the other is harmed.

• Example: Tick on a dog.
